She/Her/Hers

Megan is the newest member of the Mindful Solutions, LLC team. She completed her graduate training at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, where she received a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Megan attended the University of California Los Angeles for her undergraduate degree and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Go Bruins!). While a student at UCLA, Megan interned for mindfulness expert and distinguished author Dr. Dan Siegel and assisted in literature reviewing for his book Mind. Upon graduating from UCLA, Megan worked for four years in Los Angeles as a behavioral therapist. Using Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy, or ABA, Megan worked with children on the autism spectrum between the ages of 3 and 11 and helped them to learn adaptive social, cognitive, and emotional skills and aided them in applying these skills in real life settings like at school and at home.

During her graduate training, Megan worked with individuals, couples, and families in the Bette D. Harris Clinic at The Family Institute. For the two years Megan was at Northwestern, she was a graduate assistant to author, teacher, and therapist Dr. Alexandra Solomon. Through their work together, Megan has been inspired by Dr. Solomon’s concept of Relational Self-Awareness, a practice based in cultivating a curious awareness of how we as individuals show up in relationships with others. Megan was also selected to be a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Solomon’s renowned Northwestern University undergraduate course, Marriage 101. The class has been widely discussed and has received international recognition due to its relevance and popularity. Megan now works part time for Dr. Solomon as the Director of Education and Programming for Alexandra H. Solomon Global Media.

Megan has a particular clinical interest in working with: children, emerging adults ages 18-29, families with children, individual adults, parent and child dyads, adolescents, individuals with relationship issues, individuals going through or contemplating divorce or ending their relationship, relationship dynamics, communication, family of origin issues, understanding how we show up the way we do in relationships, anxiety, naming and regulating emotions, survivors of sexual trauma, attachment, boundaries, life transitions, self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-compassion.

Megan has a warm and collaborative therapeutic style, and uses curiosity and compassion to help clients discover new ways of thinking. Megan works from a strength-based lens to meet clients where they are and support them as they grow. Megan considers herself an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and strives to provide therapy rooted in social justice and cultural humility. Megan provides a nonjudgmental and safe therapeutic environment for her clients, and her ultimate goal is for her clients of all identities to feel seen, heard, and understood.
